This is a beautiful old Plains doll who stands 13" high. She wears a beaded leather dress in the likeness of her maker. The beadwork is red, green, and white. All the beads are there and firmly attached. The designs are lovely - beautiful bands of beads around the hem, bodice, and shoulders of her dress. The doll's facial features are made from beads and framed by old black string hair, braided to each side. The strings of the beads used to indicate her nose and mouth are a little loose and can be tightened. The doll's body is stuffed with fabric. This is an old doll in very good condition. A beautiful doll for a collection -- represents rich cultural history and skilled doll artistry. American Indian dolls in this condition and age are getting harder to find at reasonable prices. This one is both -- affordable and loved but in nice condition.
