Description
THIS IS AN AUCTION FOR FOUR BOOKS ON THE SUBJECT OF HEISEY GLASSWARE, OF WHICH TWO ARE SIGNED BY THE AUTHORS. TWO OF THE BOOKS HAVE WRITING AND UNDERLINING. THE "ENCYCLOPEDIA" BY LOUIS REAM AND BREDEHORTS IS IN NEAR FINE CONDITION. THE CATALOG WAS PRINTED IN 1968 AND IS A REPRINT OF A 1900 CATALOG AND IS IN GOOD PLUS CONDITION WITH OWNER NAME ON COVER AND HANDLING CREASES. PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION AND INSPECT PHOTOS.ALL FIVE ITEMS ARE SHOWN IN FIRST PHOTO
1- ENCYCLOPEDIA OF HEISEY GLASSWARE - ETCHINGS AND CARVINGS - SECOND EDITION - BY LOUISE W. REAM, NEILA M. BREDEHOFT AND THOMAS H. BREDEHOFT. (PHOTO 1, 11 & 12). This book appears to be in near fine condition with no markings noted other than owner name inside front cover, no tears and no creases. This is the second edition. Light soiling to exposed page edges. PLEASE NOTE: While I did skim page by page, I did not closely inspect every page and the possibility does exist that there may be a stray notation somewhere in the 283 pages.
2- HEISEY'S GLASSWARE CATALOGUE NO. 76 - Reprint in 1968 of the 1900 Catalogue. (Photo 3,4,5). The owner name is on front cover. First page has the number "0134" stamped, which suggests this may have been the 134th copy printed. The book has handling creases, soiling to covers and a nick on rear cover, as well as a few small corner creases.
3- HEISEY STEMWARE BY STEPHEN H. BRADLEY, CONSTANCE S. RYAN AND ROBERT R. RYAN.
SIGNED
BY BOTH RYANS (PHOTO 2). This book has an upper corner bump throughout, quite a bit of red pencil underlining (photo 9) and additional written notations. One page has a hard horizontal crease. Board edges show wear (Photo 6). The boards have a bubbly texture, which is original to the book. It is a rather uncommon book and spine is tight and square.
4- HEISEY'S CUT HANDMADE GLASSWARE BY HAROLD E. WILLEY-
SIGNED
BY THE AUTHOR (PHOTO 2). The is a softcover book. Front cover has a crease (photo 1) and spine has a handwritten title (photo 6). Many of the photos have a lightly penciled word below (photo 8) but the owner's description differs from that in the book and it may actually be useful.
5- SHADES OF HEISEY BY VIRGINIA MCLEAN 1968- This is just a single card showing 25 pieces of glass in color. (Photo 1 & 3) Some corner creasing and one item has a penciled "X" and the word Fostoria written next to it, suggesting the author may have misidentified the piece. I think that this card was intended to reflect the different shades of glass color used by Heisey. (this card will be inside the Blue hardcover book)
I utilize a third party EBAY supplied shipper for international sales. This is part of the Global Shipping Program. Please note the actual shipping cost before purchasing. That is not my shipping fee and I neither receive it nor know what the amount is. I have no control over import fees that may be charged.
Please do not commit to "buy it now" until you have seen the shipping amount that you will be charged. Thank you.
For International Buyers: Media Mail shipments only. Please note that, although you are likely paying very high shipping costs to have this item sent to you, I am not charging those costs. In the case of books, I utilize "media mail" to get the box to the third party shipper. "Media mail" is a very SLOW speed mailing process reserved for books and records that are potentially very heavy. If you can not wait for my shipment to reach the third party shipper at a very slow pace, please contact me before purchasing and I can add a faster (and more expensive) alternative to the listing to get the item to the third party shipper.
