Heisey Minuet Etched Apple Shaped Covered Marmalade Jar

Description

This is an exquisite A. H. Heisey & Co. covered marmalade jar in a beautiful brilliant clear crystal. The marmalade is made in the shape of an apple with stemmed lid, and a molded-in opening for a spoon. Lid and base are plate-etched in Heisey's Minuet pattern, which displays a musician, a lady with fan, and a gentleman in three panels, surrounded by medallions and garlands. This exceptionally rare piece is in good condition - the only imperfections are a small internal line or bruise (which you cannot catch a fingernail on) on the inside of the lid (see last photo with white ring), and some age wear on the bottom ground rim of base. No other chips or cracks.  Signed in mold with Heisey's Diamond "H" in center of bottom. Height to top of stem is 4"; jar is 3.75" wide. This is a difficult piece to find for the serious Heisey or jar or marmalade collector.
