Description
The lorica squamata is a type of scale armor used by the ancient Roman military during the Roman Republic and at later periods. It was made from small metal scales sewn to a fabric backing. The individual scales (squamae) were either iron or bronze, or alternating metals on the same shirt. The scales on this skirt are rivets together in horizontal rows that adhere them to the leather backing. The leather belt is also made from leather with a 60 inch length. Skirts such as this gave extra protection to your lower half, thighs, and depending on your size the knees. This piece is all handmade with steel scales that have been oiled to prevent rusting. Complete your Roman military attire with this great skirt.Specifications:
